On January 27th, we partnered with ScreenSkills and ProCam Take 2 to host an open day event as part of ScreenSkills’ initiative Making Virtual Production Real.
It was a dynamic day in which entry level creatives: junior producers, production managers, students at universities studying film, students in other fields such as game design and computer coding, young directors, DOPs and the like, were able to come and experience our state-of-the-art Virtual Production stage in an exciting opportunity to see Virtual Production in action.
We held four two-hour sessions, led by our in-house team of technicians and special speaker Saul Gittens of Procam Take 2, which covered all the software and hardware involved in the VP process, from Unreal Engine to the Mo-Sys Startracker and more, followed by a Q&A with the team. The equipment provided by Procam Take 2 allowed attendees to get hands-on experience shooting a scene on the VP stage. The session began with a tour of our campus, covering our soundstages, facilities, canal-side garden, and studio spaces.
Education is one of our core values here at Garden Studios and we place huge importance on providing the tools to help people learn and grow. We were proud to collaborate with ScreenSkills and Procam Take 2 who share our dedication to supporting the discovery, nurturing, training, and retention of next-generation talent. We’re glad to have introduced a group of future film leaders to Virtual Production.
