Finding sustainable solutions and reducing climate change impact are core values across every aspect of Garden Studios’ operations. We are here to help productions minimise and reduce their footprint and surpass their environmental commitments.

Reducing, reusing and recycling production materials
We have instituted an extensive program of film production material reuse and recycling and have seven waste streams. We facilitate donations of our productions’ set material, props and textiles into our local community via our large network of partner organisations.

100% renewable electricity and continuous efforts to reduce carbon emissions
We source 100% renewable electricity, have campus wide Zero Waste to Landfill, No Diesel Generator, No Idling, and Zero Single Use Plastics policies. We measure our carbon footprint, including upstream Scope 3, and work continuously on reducing our own and our productions’ emissions. We highlight the carbon savings that Virtual Production delivers.

Engaging and partnering with the local community
We have prioritised sustainability, inclusivity, education, innovation, and accessibility. We are invested in our local community and are continuously working on finding new ways to engage. From local staff hires, and suppliers to local artist commissions, we are proud to be an accredited London Living Wage Employer.

We have a key focus on education, fostering talent and technology, with the ambition to become London’s home for creative talent in film. We do this with respect, grace, openness and full access. We are here to help amplify the voices of the future. We are always striving to do more.

ReCollective
ReCollective is a charitable organisation which design and construct community buildings using rescued wood and other set material. Their mission also has social impact with a goal of redistributing material wealth to communities that could benefit from it. ReCollective collect material from our productions and provide carbon savings data as part of their service.

Based at The Hive, MAMA Youth has spent the last ten years training young people from under-represented backgrounds to succeed in the media industry.

Based on the canal, we support the Canal and River Trust in looking after 2,000 miles of historic canals and rivers.

The Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC) is a Mayoral Development Corporation (MDC), established by the Mayor of London to secure the regeneration of the Old Oak Opportunity area, spanning land in three London boroughs – Ealing, Brent and Hammersmith & Fulham.

Park Royal Design District is a non-profit supporting Park Royal’s creative community. Alongside two annual festivals during London Craft Week (May) and London Design Festival (Sept), PRDD promotes year-round events and maintains a directory of local artists and makers.
