Garden Studios wins 2025 Global Production Award

Cannes Film Festival, France, 19 May 2025 – Garden Studios was presented with  a  prestigious Global Production Award  for  outstanding work in the  Sustainability Initiative  category  at last night’s award ceremony.     

The winners of the Global Production Awards were revealed on 19 May, with the awards taking place at the Cannes Film Festival, seeing over 270 of the industry’s top executives and producers in attendance. 

Julie Hoegh, Head of Sustainability at Garden Studios said “We are thrilled to have won this prize for our reuse and donation programme Re-Set. It’s hugely inspiring in continuing to help our clients reduce their carbon emissions and create circularity within the film industry. Our Facilities Team and Client Services Team are instrumental in making this work smoothly as are our many donation partners. We look forward to welcoming new clients to the Re-Set programme at Garden Studios.” 

The awards celebrate outstanding and sustainable work from the world of film and TV production, locations and studios. Acknowledging great initiatives, projects and work that are setting the highest standards in sustainability, diversity and ensuring local economies benefit from the production taking place in their markets. 

“A clearly defined, results-driven initiative with direct environmental and community benefits, Garden Studios’ Re-Set stands out as a replicable and impactful model,” said one judge. Another praised the company’s focus on redirecting waste as well as its strategy to create a circular economy.

This year’s nominees are another phenomenally robust bunch that reflect all of the above priorities in their practices, and together are working to make the industry a better place for everyone. Entries for this year’s awards have come from Universal, Paramount and Netflix, and companies and commissions from South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Hungary, New Zealand and Norway – so these awards are truly international in scope.
