Garden Studios Establishes a New Hub for AI-Driven Visual Effects and Virtual Production Companies in Park Royal

Posted: 28 Sep 2026

Fast-growing AI company Soho AI, has made Garden Studios’ campus in Park Royal its new headquarters, leading a trend away from Soho as the epicentre of London’s VFX and post-production business. While they continue to maintain a presence in Soho, the headquarters move provides Soho AI with an opportunity to now work alongside Garden Studios’ stage and virtual production clients, as well as its growing hub for AI-driven creative businesses.

Founded by Garry Maddison, Soho AI is developing next-generation artificial intelligence tools designed to support filmmakers and VFX artists by enhancing creativity, efficiency and storytelling possibilities. Maddison brings extensive industry experience to the company, having spent eight years at DNEG, recognised with Oscar and BAFTA wins for acclaimed productions including Interstellar, Ex Machina and Inception.

Garden Studios has built an environment where technology and creativity can come together across the production process. Having Soho AI based within that ecosystem creates an exciting opportunity to explore how AI can support filmmakers and VFX artists in practical, creative ways.

Soho AI’s mission is to use artificial intelligence to elevate the craft of visual effects, not replace it. The company believes the future of film and television belongs to human artists, with AI serving as a tool to amplify creative vision and unlock new possibilities.

For five years, Garden Studios has operated traditional sound stages for film, television and commercial productions. It was a very early adopter of virtual production, opening the first standing VP stage in the UK in March 2021. Today, it’s continuing to embrace the future technologies to support producers with innovative solutions.
